Raymond Poppa, a long-time resident of Santa Ana, California, passed away on July 4, 2025 at the age of 87. Ray was born in Los Angeles, California. Ray lived an incredible full life. He grew up in Huntington Beach and attended Huntington Beach High School and later graduated from Northrop University obtaining a degree in aeronautical engineering, but enjoyed his career as a union movie projectionist. Ray also ran a fishing tackle business called “Flutter Craft.” Ray was very much loved by his wife and family. Ray is survived by his wife, Jean, his brother Phil Poppa, son Jeff (Cherie) Poppa, daughter Jeanie (Dan) Reed, and step-daughters Julie Rossman and Cathee (Nerfen) Escobar, and step-son Dustin Beall as well as 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
