June Fundin Hardt OBITUARY

June Hardt, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Yorba Linda, CA. Born in Newark, NJ, on April 18, 1936, she was the beloved only child of George and Dorothy Fundin.

June grew up in Bloomfield, NJ, and later attended the University of Rochester, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Affectionally known as Junebug, she was known for her radiant smile, warmth, thoughtfulness, and kindness. June’s positive outlook on life was an inspiration to all who knew her.

June 21, 1958, she married her college sweetheart and love of her life, William (Bill) Hardt, with whom she shared 49 wonderful years. Together, they raised their three children in Arlington Heights, IL. While in Arlington Heights, June returned to school to pursue her passion for nursing, becoming a Registered Nurse. She dedicated the first half of her career to caring for new mothers at Northwest Community Hospital. In the second half of her nursing career, June worked in the greater Northwest Washington, D.C. area. While in the nation’s capital, June immersed herself in its rich culture, visiting museums and historical landmarks, and volunteering.

After retiring, June and Bill settled in Palm Desert, CA, where she embraced an active and fulfilling lifestyle. She enjoyed golfing, needlepoint, playing Bridge, club activities, and volunteering. A devoted member of the Palm Desert Community Presbyterian Church, June found joy in serving her community. She cherished family vacations at the beach and shared her love of sports with her children, cheering enthusiastically for the schools attended by her children and grandchildren and the home teams from the places June lived.

June is preceded in death by her husband, William, and her daughter, Nancy Foulk (Robert). She is survived by her loving children, David (Kimberly) and grandchildren, Michael, Katelyn, and Joshua; and John (Kimberly Graham). She is also survived by her granddaughter, Allison (Foulk) Blonski (Nick), and her great-granddaughter, Clarke Blonski.

June will be laid to rest July 12th at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights, IL.

June’s legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, both personally and professionally. Friends and family alike remember her as a steadfast source of support, always ready with encouragement, a listening ear, and genuine care. Her kindness, love, grace, thoughtfulness, faith, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
