UPDATED:

A 22-year-old man shot to death an “American Idol” music supervisor and her husband after they returned to their Encino home and confronted him, Los Angeles police said, with detectives working through the night to arrest the suspect.

There were no signs of a forced entry, with the intruder apparently gaining access to the house via an unlocked door, police said.

The couple’s bodies were discovered on Monday, July 14, in the home in the 4700 block of White Oak Place about 2:30 p.m., a spokesperson with the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The department had received a request from someone for a welfare check, for police to see if the couple were OK. “The person reporting had not heard from the resident for several days,” police said.

Robin Kaye, the music supervisor, and her husband, Thomas DeLuca, were both 70 years old.

Los Angeles police didn’t announce the homicides until Tuesday, and in the evening LAPD said it had made the arrest.

The suspect, Raymond Boodarian, 22, also lives in Encino, police said. They did not disclose how they determined he was the shooter, or when the shooting occurred.

“Homicide investigators interviewed friends and family, reviewed numerous surveillance videos, and recovered evidence of a homicide at scene,” police said in a statement. “It was discovered that a prior radio call had been generated for a possible burglary suspect at the residence on July 10, 2025, around 4 p.m. …

“At this time, investigators are attempting to determine whether Boodarian has any connection to Deluca and Kaye, and if Boodarian was involved in any past calls for service at the White Oak residence,” police said.

Boodarian fled on foot, police said. The home is in an upscale neighborhood south of Ventura Boulevard.

Hours before finding the bodies, Los Angeles police had received a call of gunshots in the area, a department spokesperson said.

“Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her,” an “American Idol” spokesperson said in a statement. “Robin will remain in our hearts forever, and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”

Kaye had worked in the music department on various Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, the NAACP Image Awards and shows such as “Lip Sync Battle” and “The Singing Bee,” according to her IMDb profile.
