The South boys and girls each collected close victories in the 58th Orange County all-star basketball games at Cypress College.

Mason Hodges of San Juan Hills scored 15 points and Grayson Sinek of JSerra added 14 in the South’s 105-102 victory in the boys game earlier this month.

The South also received double-digit scoring from Dominic Bolton of JSerra (12 points), Aaron De Santiago of Fountain Valley (11 points) and Michael Ahern of Capistrano Valley Christian (10 points).

Orange County player of the year Brandon Benjamin of Canyon netted a game-high 21 points to lead five North players in double-digit scoring.

The San Diego-bound Benjamin was supported by Jaedon Anderson of La Habra (18 points), Malakhi Johnson of Villa Park (15 points), Rocco Gaffoglio of Yorba Linda (13 points) and Ze’brien Watkins of Sunny Hills (10 points).

Anderson sank six 3-pointers.

Earlier in the all-star doubleheader, the South girls edged the North 81-79 behind a team-high 16 points by Isabella Rose of Sage Hill.

Andrea Rico of San Clemente and Utah Valley-bound Anna Shreeve of San Juan Hills added 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the South.

Mater Dei guard Amaya Williams, who signed with Arizona State, scored a game-high 21 points to pace the North.

Buena Park’s Gloria Barrera, who signed with Vanguard, had 19 points.

The games were sponsored by OCO and Farmers & Merchants Bank.
